Weddell Seal

General Description: it has a bulky body, a small head, and short wide snout; it grows up to 10 feet long and weighs up to 1,000 pounds

Habitat: Antarctica

Behavior: lives on fast ice and is not migratory

Diet: fish, squid, octopus, krill, and other small crustaceans

Reproduction: the gestation period is 9-10 months; females give birth to one pup per year
